This year, the Lithuanian Running Enthusiasts Association (LBMA) is holding the traditional international relay run "Baltic Way" for the 33rd time, which will take place from August 23 to 26. The running format has changed: it will now be run for four days instead of three, and the distance has increased to 680 km, aiming to run along the historically significant route where the people of the three Baltic states joined hands. The run will start in Vilnius, at Cathedral Square, and it commemorates the 1989 aspiration of the three Baltic states to restore Freedom and Independence.

Highlights

  • The running time is extended because there is a goal to run historically along the path where the people of the three Baltic states stood together.
  • The track length increases by about 80 km (a total of 680 km).
  • Runners will start the race in Vilnius on August 23 at 10 AM in Cathedral Square.
